Tie Dye for

 Zara Tie Dye shirt

Hello gorgeous, I welcome you into my life. I've been eying you for a while, though it wasn't till I met you in the flesh that I decided to start this relationship with you. And although we are just getting to know each other and we both feel this fledgling connection may end up in me neglecting you and things being awkward when I find you in the back of my closet after months... I can say I genuinely love you... at least for a whole season.

It's Macaron Day

Poptasi Pastry - Gerard Doustraat 103 Amsterdam
Happy Macaron Day to all you sweet tooths out there!
Yesterday I got the change to take photos of this gorgeous Macaron shop (the first ever in the Netherlands) before it opened it's doors today for all the Macaron maniacs out there. Poptasi Pastry is a wonderful little piece of Paris in the heart of the popular area 'De Pijp' in Amsterdam. Flavors are never ending and owner and creator Patrick van Drie really makes the best tasting Macarons I've EVER tasted. So good. Check this place out if you get a change! You won't be able to stop eating though.. not kidding.

Just my cup of coffee

Location: Starbucks 'The Bank', Amsterdam

In the Netherlands, we are getting used to the 'grab a coffee and go' mentality that clearly finds it's seed in the USA. And I know a lot of us Dutchies were more than thrilled to discover the first Starbucks at Schiphol airport, where we could pretend to be in NYC for a while and get our coffee-to-go in style.
But March 8 marked a special day for Amsterdam: Starbucks's new coffee experience laboratory opened it's doors and invited us in to come hang out in cute corners, read local newspapers, see local bands perform, enjoy poetry readings, eat fresh cookies straight out their own bakery and.. ow yeah, drink coffee.
Located in the vault of an old bank and decorated with contemporary Dutch designs makes getting your coffee here an event on itself. What I love about this store is that it pays tribute to the age-old coffee traditions that our country holds, an awesome 'tattooed' Delftware mural for instance tells the story about how the Dutch traders played a big role in exporting coffee around the world in the 17th century. So now the Americans can come to us for their hipster coffee experience, new style.
Ha, how 'bout that!

Had a great afternoon with my girl Gabrielle at Eiland 1 in Vinkeveen, a wonderful and favorite hang-out of my friends and mine. What a perfect day. Spring has arrived and I don't care if it starts pouring tomorrow, I'm putting the heavy knits and knee-high boots away (after saying the appropriate goodbye's.. clearly).

Shopping: Vintage designer sale ByDanie

Just got back from the Designer Vintage Sale hosted by famous Dutch stylist Danie Bles at the World Fashion Centre.. and OH MY FREAKIN GOD did she host a good party. And more importantly the clothes and bags were AMAZING. I got the Louis Vuitton Suhali L'Aimable in Silver and these gorgeous Chanel loafers.. I think I'm in love. And they were a STEAL if you compare them to normal prices (or even compared to designer vintage stores pricing!). I also got this cool skirt by Topshop with mini skirt inside, so cool. Ok, need coffee now.. (and a normal heart rate). Bye now! xx
